So, you want school choice?
I have some advice for you…
You may not know this but I taught myself to read proficiently. And I am helping my son learn to read.
I’ll introduce you to some of the best books real soon, but first, the big question is this: How?
Do you need GREAT schools?
When you first make the decision to teach your kid you may get tripped up on all the curriculum choices out there, how much money some books cost and whether or not you should use this or that?
But this is a waste of time. For years my homeschool was a hot mess. As a matter of fact, my homeschool consisted of preschool prep videos, little gym, and field trips around town – AND THAT’S IT.
Do you need an expensive curriculum to teach reading?
Or not yet, anyway.
When I started homeschooling, I had no idea what I planned on teaching. As a matter of fact, I didn’t come up with a curriculum until my son was 6.
Do you need to be an expert?
And I can prove it.
There is a simple two step process…
(Yes, a TWO step process).
And it’s a process I believe anyone can follow, including you.
…Even if you don’t have an idea yet.
…Even if you never taught before.
So, watch this video all the way to the end Peter Usborne talks on the science of reading and you will learn how children learn to read…
…and more important: it will show you how to get started teaching phonics.
As a fair warning: this is simple, but it’s definitely not easy.
So make sure you watch this entire video. It’s 7 minutes (and there’s a reading series below it). And it’s available in my website Very First Reading series
Then, when you’re done watching the video, make sure you visit my website and order this series.
Plus, I want you to remember this: this is a community event, so take a second and introduce yourself in the comments below the video.
