Can I really be like Jesus?
You might think that no one can be like Jesus. A lot of people think this way. I don’t agree.
The following quote got me thinking:
“If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing that it’s stupid.”
For a fish, no matter what it has, if it’s not in its element, nothing will work.
A lion might be the king of the jungle, but if you put it in water?
It won’t be as powerful.
Here is the truth: If you are in Christ, you already have the heart of Christ.
Knowing this, we all have the ability to live like Christ. And God gave us all gifts so that we can use it to live like Christ. Our gifts help and serve people in different ways. And when we use the gifts that he has given to us, we will be happy. True happiness is living life with purpose and using our God-given talents to serve others.
And you know what is amazing? Jesus loves you the way you are. His love doesn’t change because you made a mistake. He isn’t like people. People’s love increases when you do what they think is right. And People’s love decreases when you make a mistake. Jesus love is unconditional.
Our love for others should be unconditional.
Why then do we judge each other? Judging hurts feelings.
Why can’t people accept each other and love each other for who they are? Why do we form judgments of people when judgments hurt people’s feelings. Judgments HURT people’s feelings. All of us are a world. You figure their world and you figured who they are and how they function. I feel that we are all the same. We are all equally important. And NO ONE SHOULD BE IGNORED. I feel we all should be included. And it is the least we all deserved.
Life isn’t made up BIG MOMENTS. The huge bonus you received at work, or the tiara you won last year, or the incredible party you threw. NOTHING IS PERMANENT.
Life is made up of the little things. It’s made up of how you feel every moment, every day, every week, every year. ALL THE WEALTH in the world, the BIG HOUSE YOU HAVE, the grand trips you take, WON’T MAKE YOU HAPPY. FAME WON’T MAKE YOU HAPPY.
What will make you happy?
My grandfather taught me that service and impact are the real currency of happiness. Your passion is for you, it’s the drive God gave you to live out your purpose, and it’s for you… you alone, and your purpose is for others.
We all have a purpose in this world. It’s your driver. I am very passionate about literacy. And this makes me happy. I know the root cause of why our school system is failing our kids. I know that that the root cause regardless of what curriculum you choose is ‘reading’. Most kids do not read proficiently. Teachers aren’t taught the “science of reading.” When you use what makes you happy to make others happy, that’s service. All kids can learn to read. Among other things… The root cause is reading but also the fact that God is absent from every subject in school. God is not at the center. If he were, then reading wouldn’t be the cause of our failing schools.
“SERVICE TO OTHERS IS THE RENT WE PAY FOR OUR ROOM HERE ON EARTH” Muhammed Ali
Is Jesus leading your life?
Let him craft out a role for yourself using the strengths God gave you.
He wants you to “think and act like Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).
You got to where you are today by doing what’s familiar.
Are you a fish judging yourself for not being able to climb a tree?
Right now, the most incredible thing we can do in each other is to serve each other with our unique talents and to make a difference in each other’s lives.
We all need to work with each other and better understand each other because we all need each other in some way, shape or form. And I don’t believe GOD wants us to judge each other.
“God’s plan for you is nothing short of a new heart.” — Max
“You were taught to be made new in your hearts, to become a new person. That new person is made to be like God – made to be truly good and holy” (Ephesians 4:23-24).
God loves you just the way you are. He wants you to be like Jesus and he wants you to have his heart.
“God loves you just the way you are, but he refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be just like Jesus.”
God’s love never ceases. People may come and go. People may rebuke you. Hate you. judge you. Criticize you. People will take away their love for you when you make mistakes or don’t act the way they think you should. And they may love you more when your performance is at their standard. But not so with God’s love. He loves you just as you are. That’s why he sent his son.
So when you are out in the world, just know that Jesus loves you and live your life with purpose. Serve others with your gifts. And don’t worry about what people say about you. Worry about what God will say when you’re life is over. But know. That his love. Is for you. And he will always love you.
